 Clare Rustad in China - Entry #4
January 23, 2008Hi Whitecaps fans!So I'm back at work as we speak, but I wanted to give you a quick update on the last game in China. We played Finland to a 1-1 tie on Sunday. I think the game was two days ago, but to be honest, I don't even know what day it is today. My body is now REALLY confused about the current time zone. Anyway, the game was great. A bit of drama, as we didn't tie it up until the final 10 seconds, but Jodi-Ann Robinson came through for us with an ‘average’ shot. When I say ‘average’, I'm being facetious. It was an unbelievable shot. Worthy of a celebratory dog pile. We were a bit unlucky in the final third of the park on the day, so it was a great feeling to see that ball hit the back of the net. It was fantastic to end the tournament on a positive note with a goal like that. I had such a wonderful time in China and it made me really excited for the upcoming Whitecaps season! And that doesn't even start for another five months! I don't know how I'll survive until then! Haha. Many of the players went home for a few days to visit with family. I am at work right now catching up on a few projects and wishing I was outside on a day like today. I need to get training and Bob needs to get ready to eat my dust! Haha. Anyway, I should go.
