![]() Four 'Caps make All-Conference TeamsJuly 28, 2008Four Vancouver Whitecaps players have been named to the USL W-League and Premier Development League All-Conference Teams. Whitecaps women's team captain Tiffeny Milbrett earned her third-straight W-League All-Western Conference selection, having been named as the club's Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row last weekend. Her team-leading five goals helped Bob Birarda's side earn a playoff berth and right to host the W-League Western Conference Championship after missing out last season. Joining Milbrett as an All-Western Conference selection is German left fullback Katrin Schmidt. The Florida State University product had an impressive rookie season for the Whitecaps, and was one of the few regulars on a squad that went through many changes during the campaign. The PDL All-Western Conference Team saw two Whitecaps Residency players make the selected XI, with striker Randy Edwini-Bonsu helping Thomas Niendorf's side to their first-ever appearance in the PDL playoffs in their inaugural season in the league. His team-leading nine goals in 15 regular season appearances were vital to the Residency squad finishing in a tie for first place in the Northwest Division with Tacoma Tide. Joining Edwini-Bonsu in the PDL Western Conference Team is Abbotsford, BC, native Gagandeep Dosanjh. The young midfielder played an influential role during his 15 PDL regular season appearances, with the youngster scoring two goals and recording eight assists during the regular season campaign. Vancouver Whitecaps FC congratulates all four players on their efforts during the summer. More Women News Return To Whitecaps News |
