![]() Late Night Sailing After Galaxy MatchOctober 30, 2007VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC, in conjunction with BC Ferries and Lower Island Soccer Association, announced today BC Ferries will offer a special late night ferry sailing from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay on Wednesday, November 7 at 11:30 p.m. on the Queen of Vancouver.“The interest level for the international friendly between the Whitecaps and Galaxy continues to grow and we are very excited that BC Ferries will be providing an additional sailing for our friends on Vancouver Island,” said Bob Lenarduzzi, Vancouver Whitecaps President. “We have sold over 40,000 tickets and it is shaping up to be one of the biggest soccer events in BC history.” "BC Ferries is pleased to offer this late night sailing so that Vancouver Island-based soccer fans can take in all the action at BC Place and still return home that evening," said Dan Wong, BC Ferries' Vice President of Corporate Development. More information on Vancouver Whitecaps versus Los Angeles Galaxy: Last April, the Whitecaps announced an exhibition match against David Beckham, Landon Donovan, Cobi Jones and Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Los Angeles Galaxy. The international friendly will take place on Wednesday, November 7, and is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. at BC Place Stadium. Since the announced exhibition match, David Beckham helped former club Real Madrid capture the Spanish league title and has been recalled to England’s national team.
