Vancouver Whitecaps FC are built on a European Club model with one of the most unique and integrated soccer development structures in North America. From grassroots programs to professional teams, the club model reaches nearly 35,000 participants annually.
The foundation includes free community clinics and school programs, tournaments and a variety of camps for all levels of players from U-6 to U-18 across the country. These programs increase the profile of the game and attract new players to the sport at all ages and all skill levels.

Whitecaps FC and BMO share a commitment to developing soccer talent across the country. With World Cup 2026 fast approaching, the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System provides the foundation for Canada's soccer future.
The Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System is a coast-to-coast network of 24 Whitecaps FC BMO Academy Centres. Each centre acts as a regional hub, with Whitecaps FC staff working to identify young talent and deliver standardized training programs to U9-U18 boys and girls.
The system provides a pathway to professional soccer, university scholarships, and the Canadian national teams, giving boys a route to the MLS Academy and first team in Vancouver and girls a gateway to Vancouver's Girls Elite REX program in partnership with BC Soccer.
The Development Squad is an extension of the club's First Team, bridging the gap between the club's top academy prospects and MLS roster. The team plays professional competition locally in Canada and the United States, while making trips abroad to play top competition around the world.
The top of the club model and where players aspire to reach. Academy players can enter the first team environment as they strive to play for Whitecaps FC in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada.
In our home province of British Columbia, Whitecaps FC support and are aligned within the BC Soccer development stream, which includes the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League, and BC Soccer Provincial Program. It is at this regional level of development where the brightest can be scouted and invited in for the Whitecaps FC Boys MLS Academy and the Girls Elite REX programs, and on to Canada Soccer national teams programs.
