'Caps open training camp this Saturday

Vancouver Whitecaps FC men’s team will kick off the 2008 training camp this Saturday, March 15, with the annual player assessment and orientation day at Simon Fraser University (SFU).

For the next four weeks, Whitecaps head coach Teitur Thordarson and assistant coach Todd Wawrousek will run daily training sessions from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Whitecaps Training Centre on the campus of SFU.

During the four-week camp, the Whitecaps will play four preseason matches opening with a two-game stint at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Washington - Thursday, March 20, versus Portland Timbers and Saturday, March 22, against Seattle Sounders. The Whitecaps will conclude the preseason with a pair of matches against local university sides, they play SFU at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, at Mercer Stadium in New Westminster and on Wednesday, April 2, against the Trinity Western University Spartans at 7:00 p.m. in Langley.
