Candace Chapman joins Boston Breakers roster - The Canadian Press
The Breakers also announced the signing of Brazilian forward Fabiana on Wednesday.
Fabiana and Chapman join Latham and England's Kelly Smith and Alex Scott as the Breakers' five international players.
Chapman, from Ajax, Ont., is a former Notre Dame all-American who has 62 caps and five goals for Canada. She helped lead the Vancouver Whitecaps to the W-League championship in 2006.
"Candace brings a wealth of international experience having started for Canada in the last World Cup and Olympic tournament," Boston coach Tony DiCicco said in a release.
"She is versatile, very athletic and gives us some options on where we can use her."
The Breakers, one of seven WPS teams, open their inaugural season in April. They will play home games at Harvard Stadium.
Other Canadians in the new league include Christine Sinclair of the FC Gold Pride (Bay Area), Karina LeBlanc of the Los Angeles Sol, Melissa Tancredi of the St. Louis Athletica, Erin McLeod of the Washington Freedom and Kelly Parker of Sky Blue FC (NY/NJ).
