Whitecaps FC and BC Place featured in FIFA Soccer 12
VANCOUVER, BC - After months of anticipation following major announcements regarding improved gameplay, graphics, and overall quality, EA Sports newest installment of its soccer video game franchise, FIFA Soccer 12, was released to North American markets today and perfectly captures the slogan, “If it’s in the game, it’s in the game.”
As Official Videogame Partner of Whitecaps FC, EA SPORTS used exclusive motion capture access of Whitecaps FC players and gave the virtual players life-like movements and features. BC Place Stadium is also included in FIFA Soccer 12, enabling fans to select Vancouver’s Major League Soccer side in their new home.
FIFA Soccer 12 is launching to global critical acclaim. It is currently the highest rated sports videogame ever on PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 and has collected over 20 “Best Sports Game” awards. The game is available on 12 different platforms—including Mac for the first time ever. With two world-class commentating teams--Martin Tyler and Alan Smith, and Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend—calling all the action, FIFA Soccer 12 is considered to be a revolutionary milestone in the franchise’s history.
FIFA Soccer 12 producer David Rutter highlighted the excitement around FIFA Soccer 12 and the boundaries pushed to take sports gaming to a whole new level.
“Our team is driven to make the most realistic simulation of soccer that we possibly can, and this year they delivered the best soccer game we have ever made,” said Rutter. “My goal as one of the leaders is to tap into that team spirit, and the amazingly diverse culture we have on the team – we have 18 nationalities of football fans making the game – to ensure that not only are we making the best game that we can, but that it is a brilliant reflection of what football means to the world at large.”
FIFA Soccer 12 brings to the pitch the game-changing new Player Impact Engine, and revolutionary gameplay innovations inspired by the real-world game, including all-new Precision Dribbling, Tactical Defending, and Pro Player Intelligence. Plus, new live services and breakthrough social experiences like EA SPORTS Football Club, and FIFA Ultimate Team, will deepen fans’ connection to the real-world game, their favorite club, and their friends, rivals and millions of other players around the world in the massive FIFA online community. FIFA Soccer 12 on Mac has the same revolutionary core gameplay features as the HD consoles, and for the first time ever, Mac and PC gamers can play with and against each other in online head-to-head matches.
