On Septermber 24th, 2011, rescued Chilean miner Franklin Lobos visited Vancouver as part of a tour raising money to build schools in Chile. Lobos and Valentine enjoyed recounting their playing days. Lobos represented Chile in the CONMEBOL Men Pre-Olympic Tournament, a qualifying tournament for the 1984 Olympic Games.
