MLSsoccer.com announced on Friday that Joe Cannon has won MLS Save of the Week for his incredible first-half reaction tip over the crossbar against Chivas USA last weekend.
A whopping majority of fans voted Cannon's stop against Chivas USA's Casey Townsend as the best of the weekend. The 37-year-old went flying to tip away a shot by the Goats rookie striker, which was destined for the top right-hand corner.
Cannon was later forced out of the match with a thigh bruise, but it didn't stop Whitecaps FC from registering their second shutout victory to start the season, as they walked away 1-0 winners.
