Back here in North America, Week Four of the MLS season in the books, and that means that the latest Power Rankings are out. With a 2W-0L-2D record and eight out of twelve points collected, the Blue and White continue to garner positive evaluations. Whitecaps FC are off to a great start this season, collecting eight out of twelve possible points. With an upcoming Western Conference showdown against San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday the team will try to focus on taking an important three points on the road as they look to climb further up the Western Conference standings. The ‘Caps are about to get some new competition in the United States Soccer Development Academy (USSDA). Two of their biggest MLS foes, Portland Timbers and Montreal Impact, will have both U-16 and U-18 teams competing in the USSDA next year, boosting the number of teams MLS clubs in the league to 17 overall. Portland will play against Whitecaps FC in the West Conference, while Montreal becomes the second Canadian team to enter the USSDA, following in the footsteps of the 'Caps last year. (USSoccer.com)
