After earning a win and draw to open the 2012 MLS Reserve League season, Vancouver Whitecaps FC reserves play their first friendly match of the campaign at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, BC on Friday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. PT.

Whitecaps FC head coach Martin Rennie will dress a similar looking starting XI that defeated San Jose Earthquakes reserves 2-1 last Sunday, with the lone change seeing midfielder Gershon Koffie in for Residency product Ben Fisk. Rennie's bench will include experienced striker Sebastien Le Toux, midfielders Davide Chiumiento, and Jun Marques Davidson, as well as youngster Sam Adekugbe. Whitecaps FC are off this weekend and return to Major League Soccer action next Wednesday, April 18, when they host in-form Sporting Kansas City on Bell Pitch at BC Place.

The University of Washington are in the middle of an eight-match spring season, with a current record of two wins and one defeat. The Huskies finished the 2011 NCAA Dvision I season with an overall record of 12 wins, four defeats, and two draws. CLICK HERE for the 2011 Huskies roster.

Vancouver’s reserve side will play four more home matches during their Reserve League campaign. This includes Whitecaps FC’s next reserve match on Sunday, April 22, versus Pacific Northwest rivals Portland Timbers reserves at Swangard. That is followed by three matches at Thunderbird Stadium on the campus of the University of British Columbia (UBC): Tuesday, June 12, against LA Galaxy reserves; Monday, July 23, against Chivas USA reserves; and Monday, September 10, against San Jose Earthquakes reserves. Kickoff will be 3 p.m. PT for the April 22 match at Swangard and 11 a.m. PT for the three matches at UBC Thunderbird Stadium.
