Whitecaps FC women preparing to start season

First W-League match is this Sunday in Victoria

It's that time of year again! Vancouver Whitecaps FC women are hard at work training this week as they prepare to begin their 2012 W-League seasonthis coming Sunday, May 13, on Vancouver Island against Victoria Highlanders FC. It will be an exciting year for the 'Caps with a mixture of players from the Canadian senior women's national team, U-20 national team, Women's Professional Soccer (WPS), Girls Elite program graduates and college stars.

Carl Valentine was at training to check in with head coach Jesse Symons and a few players on this year's squad to see what we can expect from the team this season.

Whitecaps FC play their first home match against Colorado Rush on Friday, May 18 at Langley's McLeod Athletic Park, hosted by Langley United Youth Soccer Association. As in the past two seasons, Whitecaps FC will play their W-League home matches in various communities in British Columbia as part of the Whitecaps Women’s Soccer Series presented by Kia.
