Jay DeMerit returns to his alma mater UIC

CHICAGO, IL – Before the rise to United States national team, success at the club level with English side Watford and now Whitecaps FC, DeMerit enjoyed a four-year NCAA Division I career at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Initially a striker, DeMerit converted to a centre half and helped the UIC Flames to back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances in 1999 and 2000.
