To honour the ‘Caps amazing fans, Air Canada created an application on Facebook that asked fans to enter an inspirational message. The individual who submitted the most creative message was awarded with the ultimate fan experience, which saw a surprise revealing of their message featured on an artistically designed giant TIFO (banner) to cover a section of fans during the August 15, 2012 home match.

Ian Corlett was the winner of this contest, and on August 15 he sat in front row seats at the ‘Caps vs. FC Dallas match at BC Place. Just before kickoff, unbeknownst to him, the unveiling of his winning message began.

Air Canada has created a memorable video (English or French) capturing Ian’s unforgettable experience, including his emotional reaction to his message “the beautiful game, the beautiful city, go ‘Caps go!” as it was revealed.

To compliment the spectacular display, 1,000 people in the same section also wore t-shirts printed with the drawing of Ian’s message. In addition to this, Ian’s ultimate fan experience included a Whitecaps FC team signed jersey, team signed soccer ball, and two tickets to watch a match from a suite.
