Each and every participant in the inaugural Whitecaps FC Fantasy Manager competition helped establish the league as a truly fun and competitive group in 2012. There was plenty of jockeying for position between160 competitors, many of which were neck and neck right to the very finish line. When the season finally came to a head with the MLS Cup match between LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo the final tallies had only 23 points between the top three managers, Mike Takla, Derrick Freedman and Scott Cardwell.

In the end it would be Mike Takla who would rise above the rest to claim this year’s championship title. “I think winning the 'Caps fantasy league might make me the club's second most famous Englishman after the great Carl Valentine,” exclaimed Mike to whitecapsfc.com. “Thanks to the club for the great prize and I'm looking forward to defending my title again next year!”

Congratulations to Mike and all of our top-ten competitors!

Those placing second through sixth in the Whitecaps FC Fantasy Manager competition will be pleased to receive a soccer ball autographed by a member of Whitecaps FC. Proving once again that ‘Caps fans know their stuff, Derrick Freedman, Scott Cardwell, Jan Scharsig and Erik Sichem all managed to place in the top 100 out of 16,000+ in the MLS Fantasy Manager competition.
