WHITECAPS FC

After a dissapointing defeat against the University of British Columbia, Whitecaps FC Reserves responded with a strong 3-0 win against the University of Victoria on Saturday.

Camilo, Erik Hurtado and Tommy Heinemann scored the goals for the 'Caps while goalkeepers Brad Knighton and Simon Thomas combined for the shutout. The match also saw the first game action in a while for Omar Salgado, who continues to regain his fitness.

"I was really pleased with the game and how it was played," said head coach Martin Rennie following the match. "Most importantly we played well as a team and we had motivation to really fight and work hard, which is really important for us in every game we play."

SFU CLAN

SFU are coming off of a very successful season in which they became the first ever school outside of the United States to qualify for the NCAA Division II men's soccer tournament. The Clan went on to make an impressive run to the Final Four. This accomplishment is made all the more impressive considering it was their first opportunity to qualify for the tournament after being granted full membership to the NCAA.

The Clan are coached by Alan Koch, who was formerly head coach of Whitecaps FC's W-League team.
