VANCOUVER, BC Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed today that striker Darren Mattocks underwent a successful partial meniscectomy to his right knee on Thursday, July 25.

Mattocks joined Whitecaps FC in January 2012 after being selected second overall by the club in the MLS SuperDraft. Over his first two seasons in MLS, the Jamaican international has started 21 of his 34 appearances, contributing offensively with 10 goals and two assists.

Whitecaps FC return to BC Place this coming Saturday, July 27, when they host Philadelphia Union in a battle of two of the top attacking teams in MLS.
