VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today the club’s 2013-14 Pre-Residency roster, featuring players from U-14 to U-15.

“It’s a very strong group,” said Whitecaps FC Pre-Residency head coach Bart Choufour (pictured). “We’ve started training and the players have been really sharp so far. We’ve made our roster smaller this season, which will allow us to give greater focus to each player’s development.”

Five new players enter the program from the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League, including Chilliwack native William Bundy and Burnaby native Nathan Graziano from Mountain United FC, Vernon native Connor Glennon from Okanagan FC, Abbotsford native Aaron Mulama of Magnuson Ford Mariners FC, and Anthony Vega of Coastal FC.

13 players return to the Pre-Residency team, including Burnaby natives Michael Baldisimo and Alessandro Hojabrpour; Coquitlam natives Nicolas Apostol, Gabriel Escobar, Christopher Guerreiro and Trevor Schneider; New Westminster native Nikolas Papakryiakopolous; North Vancouver natives Dylan Defer and Evan Ince; Surrey natives Travis Selje and Brendan Skinner; and Vancouver natives Jude Barrow and Carson Ho.

Five players from last year’s Pre-Residency group have been promoted train with the U-16 Residency team. Burnaby, BC, native Terrell Smith, Surrey, BC native Noah Verhoeven, and Vancouver, BC, native Jonah Hakkinen will train part-time with the U-16 team, while Surrey, BC, native Nikhil Reddy and Vancouver, BC, native Boubacar Diarra will train full-time with the U-16 team but also play matches with the Pre-Residency squad.

Five players on this year’s full-time Pre-Residency roster are also products of the BC Soccer Provincial Development Program, including: William Bundy, Connor Glennon, Nathan Graziano, Brendan Skinner, and Anthony Vega.

The Pre-Residency team kick off their season this weekend when they travel across the border to take part in the Seattle Sounders FC Cup against fellow MLS Pre-Academy squads.
