2013 in Review: Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2013 Season By the Numbers
A couple interesting nuggets of information regarding the year that was.
2 - Whitecaps FC thwarted both of their Canadian counterparts during their MLS encounters this season, topping Toronto FC 1-0 in the season opener and Montreal Impact 3-0 on the road in September.
2 - Kekuta Manneh became just the second opposing player to score a hat-trick at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field in MLS regular season play since the Sounders joined the league in 2009. DC United’s Chris Pontius was the first, achieving the feat back on June 11, 2010
4 - Jordan Harvey scored four goals from his left back position, including the 10,000th goal in MLS history versus Chivas USA. The California native had two goals in his previous eight seasons in the league.
7 - BC Place was sold-out seven times for Whitecaps FC matches throughout the 2013 campaign. #StrengthInNumbers
7 - Whitecaps FC kept seven clean sheets during the 2013 MLS season.
9 - Midfield maestro Russell Teibert accumulated nine assists, tying the record for a 'Caps player in MLS.
10- The ‘Caps began the season with a 10-match unbeaten streak at BC Place. The streak ended at the hands of Philadelphia Union on July 27.
29 - Young-Pyo Lee started 29 games for Whitecaps FC this season, the final year of his 14-year professional soccer career.
53 - The Blue and White found the back of the net 53 times as a team, tied for fourth in the league in that category.
123 - Camilo led the league in goals with 22, but he also led the league in shots with 123; in addition, the Brazilian sniper led MLS in shots on goal, with 55.
