Annual Vancouver Whitecaps FC staff match takes place at Grande Sports World (video)

Matt Watson plays the role of videographer for 2014 staff match

CASA GRANDE, ARIZONA — An annual tradition at Vancouver Whitecaps FC's preseason trip to Grande Sports World is the club's staff match, when most members of the technical, medical, and communications staff hit the pitch and pretend like they're soccer players.

At least that's what I was doing (thanks to Marco Carducci, who was kind enough to lend me his boots). But some of them can actually play.

The match took place on Thursday afternoon and whitecapsfc.com was there to capture all the fun. We had some help though. Whitecaps FC midfielder Matt Watson played the role of videographer as he and his teammates offered some much-needed "encouragement" from the sidelines.
