For some Whitecaps FC players, Tuesday’s match will provide an opportunity to get a full game under their belt for the first time since the preseason.
“It’s one of these games that we need to make sure that we’re getting adequate minutes for players in competitive environments,” said Whitecaps FC assistant coach Gordon Forrest, who will be running the team on Tuesday. “We’ll use it for certain outcomes, for players pushing for first-team spots, for players looking to get back to full fitness, and to get some of the Residency players involved at some point as well.”
Goalkeepers: Marco Carducci, Paolo Tornaghi
Defenders: Sam Adekugbe, Christian Dean, Johnny Leveron, Carlyle Mitchell, Nicholas Prasad*, Ethen Sampson
Midfielders: Bryce Alderson, Marco Bustos*, Kianz Froese*, Jordan Haynes*, Nicolas Mezquida, Mitch Piraux*

Tuesday’s match will be FC Edmonton’s fifth and final preseason outing before kicking off their 2014 NASL campaign next Saturday, April 12.
The Eddies have been training in the Vancouver area since March 17. They have gone undefeated in preseason competition thus far, defeating the Trinity Western Spartans, Simon Fraser University Clan, and Abbotsford Selects before drawing 1-1 with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds this past weekend.
There are a few familiar faces within the Eddies organization, including former Whitecaps FC Residency midfielder Gagandeep Dosanjh and former Whitecaps FC assistant coach Colin Miller. This will be Miller’s second year as Eddies head coach.
“It’s going to be a tough game,” said Forrest. “They’ll come very prepared under Colin and they’ll want to make a good impression being here. It will be a difficult challenge.”
The ‘Caps and Eddies have met in the first round of the last two Amway Canadian Championships. Whitecaps FC have emerged victorious in each of their four meetings, outscoring the Eddies by a 10-3 margin.
Whitecaps FC season tickets start at the prorated price of just $312 and single-match tickets start at $22, subject to applicable fees.
