‘Caps Kenny Miller visits local pub to learn Budweiser Pool Ball

Bud Poolball

Last Thursday, September 27, 2012 many local Surrey residents were thrilled to find 'Caps striker Kenny Miller at their local Amber Jack’s Taphouse. Kenny, however, wasn’t there just by coincidence; he was there to join some fans in learning the fun new game called Budweiser Pool Ball.

Budweiser pool ball is a genius combination of pool and soccer, played on a 7-meter astroturf pool field. Mini soccer balls are used as pool balls, and instead of using a pool cue to strike the balls into the pockets, the competitors step onto the table/field and use their feet, . Budweiser staff encouraged players, like in soccer, to also try using other body parts, of course instilling the rule of no hand balls.

After a successful night of stiff competition and many laughs, Kenny can now call himself a trained expert at both soccer and “foot pool” as he called it.

We would like to extend a thank you to Amber Jack’s Taphouse for hosting the event, and Budweiser for teaching us this exciting new game. Keep an eye out for when you can see your ‘Caps players next in your own community.
