Three storylines for tonight's tilt at FC Dallas

FRISCO, TEXAS – Vancouver Whitecaps FC (15W-12L-5D) visit FC Dallas (15W-10L-6D) at Toyota Stadium tonight, looking to climb up the standings and build momentum ahead of the 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs. Playoff tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today.

KICKOFF: 6 p.m. PT TV: TSN RADIO: TSN 1410

Here are three storylines to get you set for the match.

PLAYOFF RACE

The 'Caps set a goal before the season of hosting a playoff game in Vancouver, and earning four points in the remaining two matches would guarantee that.

A draw would keep them in pace, with a home match versus Houston Dynamo left in their regular season finale. However, as Jordan Harvey put it on Monday, the goal is to get three points.

Can head coach Carl Robinson turn the tide and get Vancouver back in their fine form heading into the playoffs?

SEASON OF FIRSTS

Whitecaps FC fans know that even a draw is hard to earn in the state of Texas, where the 'Caps remain without a point after nine visits.

But this year seems to be a season of firsts for Whitecaps FC on the road - winning for the first time at LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, New England Revolution and Chicago Fire.

Is FC Dallas the next casualty? Or will Vancouver's Texas woes continue?

HEALTHY BODIES

The club prides itself on their team depth, and tonight presents another opportunity for a number of players to step up to the forefront.

With Pedro Morales and Nicolas Mezquida out and Mauro Rosales and Cristian Techera listed as questionable, the 'Caps will look to Kekuta Manneh, Octavio Rivero and perhaps, Russell Teibert to create chances.

At the back, Pa-Modou Kah is questionable as he continues to recover from a right hip flexor strain. It remains to be seen if Kendall Waston can rejoin the team in time for the match, after playing 90 minutes in Costa Rica's friendly versus USA in New Jersey on Tuesday evening. Steven Beitashour returns from a one-match suspension due to caution accumulation, while rookie Tim Parker has shown he's ready whenever called upon.

Jordan Smith may be featured in the match as well as the 'Caps try to contain the Toros attack, which is expected to be led by Mauro Díaz and Michael Barrios.
