A member of the 2011 Generation Adidas class, Hertzog joined Whitecaps FC on January 16, 2013 as a free agent. The striker enters his third season in MLS following two years with New York Red Bulls.&nbsp;<br>

<strong>MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER</strong><br>


<strong>2013: </strong>The young American striker has seen an increase in playing time for Martin Rennie&#39;s side this season. He notched the first assist of his MLS career on July 6 vs. Seattle, when he played a perfect ball into the path of Kenny Miller. He scored a glorious goal from 40 yards out in the second leg of the Amway Canadian Championship semi-final versus FC Edmonton. <strong>2012:</strong> Hertzog was on the roster for New York Red Bulls but did not appear in any matches as he spent part of the season on loan at USL PRO side Wilmington Hammerheads. <strong>2011:</strong> The Reading, Pennsylvania native was drafted 13th overall by New York in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft after signing a Generation adidas contract. In his debut season in MLS, the young forward appeared in seven matches and registered one goal for New York Red Bulls, making his professional debut on March 26, 2011 in a 0-0 draw with Columbus Crew. On June 28, 2011, Hertzog made his first start for New York and scored his first professional goal in a 2-1 victory over FC New York in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.<br>

<strong>2013:&nbsp;</strong>Hertzog found the back of the net twice in a 3-1 win over SFU on March 19.&nbsp;<br>

<strong>UNITED SOCCER LEAGUES PROFESSIONAL DIVISION</strong><br>


<strong>2012:</strong> In May 2012, Hertzog was loaned to Wilmington Hammerheads of USL PRO, where he appeared in 17 matches and registered nine goals. He ended the season as a top scorer in USL Pro and helped the Hammerheads reach the USL PRO finals.<br>

<strong>UNITED SOCCER LEAGUES PREMIER DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE</strong><br>


<strong>2010:</strong> In between his collegiate seasons, Hertzog played for Reading United A.C of the USL Premier Development League (PDL). In 2010, the striker made four appearances. 2009: In his first PDL season, Hertzog scored four goals and recorded one assist in eight matches.<br>

<strong>COLLEGE</strong><br>


<strong>2010:</strong> In his junior year, Hertzog led NCAA Division I in goals scored when he connected 20 times and was named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, an award presented annually to the best NCAA college soccer player. 2009: In his successful sophomore season, Hertzog received Second Team All-Big Ten selection and was voted Offensive MVP of the Big Ten Tournament. He led the Nittany Lions with 11 goals and finished tied for first in Big Ten in goals scored. 2008: As a freshman, Hertzog appeared in 17 matches and registered two goals for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He finished second on the team in goals and earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week during the 2008 season.&nbsp;<br>

<strong>YOUTH/AMATEUR</strong><br>


As a young striker, Hertzog scored 107 career goals at Antietam Middle Senior High School in Reading, Pennsylvania and led Berks County in scoring in 2006 and 2007. He was also selected to Pennsylvania All-State team as a senior and was a two-time captain and team MVP (2006-07) while being named All-Berks Division IV after sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. As a freshman, started for the Single A State Champion Mountaineers, earning Honorable Mention All-Berks Division IV recognition. Additional honours include being named High School Sports Magazine Player of the Year and Army Player of the Month. Recognized for his play on the field, Hertzog was selected to the 2006 Super Y League North American Finals First Team and United Soccer Leagues Super Y League ODP National Camps for four consecutive years. The Pennsylvania native also participated on 2007 and 2008 United Soccer Leagues Super Y League ODP National Select Teams.<br>

Corey James Hertzog was born on August &nbsp;1, 1990. He is Son of Ralph and Susan Hertzog and sas one sister, Danielle. at Penn State, he majored in Elementary Education.<br>
