In motion is a health promotion strategy that encourages citizens to include regular physical activity into their daily lives. Throughout the month of October, residents of Abbotsford are challenged to do 30 minutes of physical activity each day. This can be an accumulation of minutes of activity throughout the day or one 30 minute activity.

There are many benefits to be obtained from regular physical activity. Not only will you look better and feel better about yourself, but you will also be contributing to the prevention of many health risks and diseases. According to Dr. Nick Busing from the College of Family Physicians of Canada, "Being physically inactive has the same impact on your health as smoking a pack of cigarettes each day."
