Galaxy game in the media

Wednesday night became a memorable evening for Vancouver Whitecaps FC and local soccer fans, as David Beckham and Los Angeles Galaxy graced the BC Place turf in an international friendly.

An enthusiastic crowd of over 48,000 took in a competitive contest between the two clubs, with the Whitecaps showing plenty of quality in earning a 0-0 draw with their Major League Soccer visitors.

There were a number of incidents for which the fans are sure to remember. From the late arrival of the game officials for the start of the second half to an accepted public wedding proposal by a Whitecaps volunteer. There was even an infamous incident involving a male streaker that caused a moment of comedic excitement amongst the huge audience.

As expected, the media was out in full force to see Beckham make his Canadian debut and play more than three quarters of the match against Vancouver.
