As part of the club’s support for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Vancouver Whitecaps FC have donated an autographed Los Angeles Galaxy jersey to the local charity.
The framed Galaxy jersey was signed by every member of the Major League Soccer club, including their star midfielder David Beckham, following their recent international friendly with the Whitecaps in front of over 48,000 fans at BC Place. The jersey will be part of a silent auction at the Foundation’s 21st annual Crystal Ball on Thursday, November 29, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver.
This year will the third decade that the black-tie fundraising gala has taken place on the Lower Mainland. In 2006, the event saw 350 guests make significant contributions to BC Children’s Hospital, which is the largest full-service health centre in Canada.
Each year, BC Children’s Hospital receive more than 168,000 sick and injured child patients from across British Columbia. Their ability to provide expert care for the province’s most seriously ill and injured children makes BC Children's Hospital a unique healthcare institution, with many of their specialized pediatric services not available anywhere else in B.C.
The annual Crystal Ball is considered one of the most exclusive events of the holiday season in Vancouver, with tickets available at $500 a plate or $4,000 for a table of eight.
