Whitecaps Girls wrap up Idaho tour

Vancouver Whitecaps U-16 Girls Prospects lost 3-1 to Boise Capitals U-17 side in their final game at the Idaho Invitational Challenge on Sunday. The midday clash saw strong winds dictate the conditions on the pitch, with Jesse Symons' side having the wind at their backs in the first half.It was Vancouver that took the lead on nine minutes, as Nicole Setterlund headed home Karm Jawandah's corner to make it 1-0. The Whitecaps had more of the territorial advantage throughout much of the first half, but the older Boise Capitals side would draw level on 26 minutes when a shot found the top right-hand corner of the Whitecaps goal. The Idaho club then put the game away with two goals from through balls in the space of three second-half minutes. The Whitecaps created chances to get back into the game in the second half, but facing the strong Idaho winds proved too much of a challenge on the day.
