Coastal WFC draws Super Y opener

Coastal WFC opened their 2008 Super Y League season Wednesday by drawing all four games against division rival and Northwest newcomer Surrey WFC.

The Coastal WFC and Surrey WFC U13 Boys and Girls opened up first with the U13 boys drawing 0-0, and the U13 Girls playing to a 2-2. The Coastal and Surrey U14 Boys and Girls followed the same story line with the U14 Boys playing to a scoreless draw and the U14 Girls drawing 2-2.

While Coastal were opening with their first games of the season, Surrey WFC have been busy, winning three of a four-game weekend series in Washington State over Spokane and hosting American rivals Evergreen Soccer Club in their first-ever Super Y-League home opener winning once and dropping two.

Super Y League play continues with a busy schedule this weekend.

Surrey WFC hosts the Washington Crossfire Friday at 5:30 and 7:30 at Newton Athletic Park, and then travel to Abbotsford on Sunday at 12:30 and 2pm to take on the Mariners at Bateman Park.

Coastal WFC travel to Victoria on Saturday to take on the West Coast Capitals and then return home Sunday to host rival Mountain WFC for a full slate of eight games at Hugh Boyd Park in Richmond.
