Caps take young roster on challenging road trip - Vancouver Sun

It'll be a young and inexperienced Vancouver Whitecaps women's team that will be looked on to lead the W-League club through an important road trip to southern California starting tonight against the Los Angeles Legends.

With a majority of the team's players unavailable due to Under-20 commitments, the Whitecaps will be led by striker Tiffeny Milbrett and midfielder Selenia Iacchelli, who are the only players on the traveling squad to have played all five Whitecaps games this season. Striker Rosalyn Hicks, German defender Katrin Schmidt, and Finnish forward Sanna Talonen are the three other players to have appeared for the club this season. The squad also includes two members of the Whitecaps Prospects women's team in forward Nikki Wright and defender Brienna Shaw, as well as Canadian international striker Amy Vermeulen.

The Whitecaps have a challenging schedule of three games in five days in greater Los Angeles. After facing the Legends, they visit the Ventura County Fusion on Friday before playing the Pali Blues on Sunday.
