Whitecaps fall 3-1 to Rochester - 24 Hours

THE BUZZ
The host Rochester Rhinos scored three unanswered second half goals Saturday to beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 in USL First Division action.
QUICKIE NICKY
Whitecap Nicholas Addlery scored just 10 seconds after the opening kickoff. It was the fastest goal in Vancouver league history. Peter Lorimer of the original North American Soccer League Whitecaps notched a marker in just four seconds, but that was during a 1982 international friendly with Malmo of Sweden.
ZE DOES IT
Ex-Whitecap Ze Roberto equalized in the 46th minute and added the 89th minute insurance goal. He also had two assists in Rochester's 3-0 June 13 win over the Whitecaps. Roberto was a pointless disappointment in six regular season games for Vancouver in 2007.
THE WINNER
The Whitecaps' perennial nemesis Johnny Menyongar gave the Rhinos the win with a 71st minute goal.
NEXT UP
The 'Caps host Toronto FC in Vancouver's last Nurtilite Championship Match on Wednesday at Swangard Stadium. A win is needed for the Whitecaps to stay alive in qualifying for the CONCACAF Champions League.
