THE BUZZ
Back to the grindstone for the Vancouver Whitecaps after their entertaining 2-2 Wednesday draw with Major League Soccer's Toronto FC in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship series. The Whitecaps host the Carolina RailHawks at Swangard Stadium on Sunday (7 p.m. Team 1040).
THE TEAMS
The sophomore 4-4-6 RailHawks played last night against the Minnesota Thunder, in search of their second road win of 2008. The second-place Whitecaps are hoping to improve their 7-4-2 record during the first of three consecutive league matches at home.
HAWK TALK
The Scott Schweitzer-coached Carolina squad is led by forward Danny Antoniuk. The former Portland Timber and Atlanta Silverback nicknamed "Dizzy" was briefly a Whitecap but never played a game here before being traded.
SEBRANGOALS
Seven Whitecaps have scored a combined 12 goals in the team's 13 games. Four are by Eduardo Sebrango, who also scored twice against Toronto FC.
GORGEOUS GEORGE
The Whitecaps visit the Prince George All-Stars in a Lower Mainland vs. Interior friendly on July 19 before returning home to host the Charleston Battery on July 23 and the RailHawks again on July 26.
WOMEN'S WORK
The 5-2-3 W-League Whitecaps host the 3-4-3 Fort Collins Force at 4 p.m. Sunday. Finnish import Sanna Talonen and Saskatchewan's Amy Vermeulen lead with a trio of goals each. It's the penultimate 2008 game for the club, which ends the regular season a week later when the Real Colorado Cougars come north.
