'Caps trio in USL-1 Team of the Week

Three Vancouver Whitecaps players have been named in the latest USL First Division Team of the Week.

Goalkeeper Jay Nolly joined defenders Omar Jarun and Lyle Martin in making the Week 19 squad after their performances against Pacific Northwest rivals Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders last week.

Nolly added to his Week Seven honour by being selected as the all-star XI's starting keeper following his performances in the 0-0 draw in Seattle last Wednesday and the 2-1 victory at home to Portland on Friday.

Martin also earned his second weekly honour after recording the assists for both of Nicholas Addlery's goals in the win over the Timbers. The speedy fullback, who has played recently on the right side of midfield, last made the league's selected team in Week Five.

Centre back Jarun, meanwhile, claimed his third weekly accolade in the past four weeks after showing his leadership in Vancouver's last two games. The Palestinian international previously made the team in Weeks 16 and 18.

There were also three Montreal Impact players in this week's selected squad, with former Whitecaps midfielder Tony Donatelli joining Week 19 Player of the Week Felix Brillant in the team's midfield. Impact defender Nevio Pizzolitto was also selected after his displays in a pair of 3-1 home victories versus Atlanta Silverbacks.

Rochester Rhinos defender Ross Smith and Seattle midfielder Josh Gardner are also in the squad, while three strikers in Fabrice Noel from Puerto Rico Islanders, Alex Afonso of Miami FC Blues, and Hamed Diallo from Carolina RailHawks completed the Week 19 side.
