Dunbar salutes Kindel and the 'Caps

Dunbar Soccer Association congratulates the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Steve Kindel on their success in winning the 2008 United Soccer Leagues First Division championship.

Kindel, who serves as Technical Director at Dunbar Soccer, played a vital role in the Whitecaps run to their second USL-1 title in three seasons. The Burnaby, BC, native made 35 total appearances during his 11th season with the 'Caps. This included starts in all five USL-1 playoff matches and four starts in the inaugural Nutrilite Canadian Championship.

"We congratulate Steve and the Whitecaps on their success this season," said Dunbar Soccer board director Steve Engh. "Steve has been invaluable to us here at Dunbar, and we are appreciative of what both he and the Whitecaps have done to promote soccer in Vancouver."

As the largest youth soccer club in Vancouver, Dunbar Soccer have been a committed supporter of the Whitecaps, whether it has been purchasing game tickets during the season or their involvement in game-day initiatives at Swangard Stadium. Dunbar shares a strong relationship with the Whitecaps through initiatives like the 'Kickin' with the 'Caps' program. Dunbar Soccer players participated in a pre-match clinic and served as ball boys and girls during the Whitecaps home game versus Portland Timbers on August 22.

Now in his eighth year with Dunbar Soccer, Kindel is appreciative of their support for the club he plays for. "I want to thank all those at Dunbar for their continued support to me as a Whitecaps player, and of the Whitecaps as a whole," said Kindel. "It's been great to see those from Dunbar regularly attend our home games this past season."
