Vancouver Whitecaps FC were honoured for their USL First Division championship success during Thursday night's Vancouver Canucks NHL hockey game at General Motors Place.
During the first period of the Canucks' 1-0 victory over Phoenix Coyotes, Whitecaps players were introduced to the crowd for their success in winning their second USL-1 title in three seasons, with a short video of the USL-1 Championship Final win over Puerto Rico Islanders shown on the GM Place scoreboard.
Several Whitecaps were in attendance at Thursday's Canucks game. They included Luca Bellisomo, Jeff Clarke, Randy Edwini-Bonsu, Ethan Gage, Steve Kindel, Stefan Leslie, Geordie Lyall, Navid Mashinchi, Eduardo Sebrango, Simon Thomas, and Alfredo Valente. Physiotherapist Patrick Dessaulles was also in attendance from the men's team staff.
The Whitecaps wish to thank the Canucks organization for their support and recognition of our club's 2008 championship success. The 'Caps wish the Canucks the very best of luck during the 2008/09 NHL campaign.
