One of the Portland Timbers’ main defenders will be suiting up next season for rival Vancouver.
Central defender Justin Thompson, who lives in North Vancouver, British Columbia, has returned to the Whitecaps.
Thompson, 27, signed a one-year deal, with a club option for a second year, after spending two seasons with the Timbers and playing in 47 matches, with three goals scored.
"The main thing about [Thompson] is that he's a hard-working player," Vancouver coach Teitur Thordarson tells the (Vancouver) Province. "He has a good mentality, good attitude and he's as hard as nails, a very competitive player."
