Whitecaps president Bob Lenarduzzi was in Seattle on Monday visiting with Sounders officials. He said most of the discussion was around how the club is making the transition from USL to MLS. The 'Caps are one of six groups (representing six cities) bidding for two 2011 MLS expansion franchises. The announcement is expected between mid-January and the beginning of March.

"We kind of went through the whole range," he said. "Talking about the transition, how they're dealing with players. All useful information if we're successful in securing a franchise. The thing that was fantastic [Teitur will now sue Bobby for violating his exclusive rights on the word "fantastic"] was their willingness to help with every aspect of the technical side of things."

Lenarduzzi also got a tour of the Sounders training facility and offices and said he was blown away. The Whitecaps are planning a new training complex in Delta, which is in the early negotiation/planning/discussion stages...
