The Moose isn't loose. He's Justin time for a 2009 return.

The Vancouver Whitecaps - who have been busy shedding veterans - announced yesterday that they have exercised the contract option of 25-year-old midfielder Justin Moose.

Midfielder Vicente Arze and goalkeeper Jay Nolly will also return next season.

Moose scored twice in 29 games for Vancouver after two seasons with D.C. United of Major League Soccer. Arze was a rookie of the year nominee. Nolly was 14-8-7 with 11 shutouts.

The Whitecaps released captain Jeff Clarke and fellow veteran Whitecaps Steve Kindel and Alfredo Valente last week.
