Happy Holidays from Whitecaps FC!

With the holiday season nearly upon us, everyone at the Vancouver Whitecaps FC would like to wish our fans the very best over the holiday period and for 2008.

We look forward to a new and exciting season in the New Year after an eventful campaign in 2007, which culminated with our international friendly game against David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy in front of over 48,000 fans at BC Place on November 7. Though we are in the middle of our off-season, Whitecaps staff have been working hard preparing for 2008, with our season-ticket campaign in full swing.

With the appointment of Teitur Thordarson as our new men’s team head coach, there is much optimism for the year ahead, while Bob Birarda’s women’s team will be looking forward to playing in a new-look W-League Western Conference, with three new clubs from southern California joining the league next summer.

The club’s youth development program had a rewarding 2007 and is eager to build on the successes of the past 12 months. Whitecaps Residency will be making its first appearance at the prestigious Dallas Cup tournament in the spring before embarking on their inaugural campaign in the USL Premier Development League in the summer. Whitecaps Prospect teams will also have plenty to look forward to in 2008, with the club appearing at the Odyssey Cup in southern California in early January, while our Super Y-League affiliates will also look to send more teams to Florida for the North American finals next November.
With much to look forward to in the New Year, we will be taking a well-deserved break over the holiday period, and as a result, the Whitecaps office will be closed from Saturday, December 22 until after New Year’s Day, when it re-opens on Wednesday, January 2.
Whitecaps fans will still have until Thursday, January 10, to take advantage of our Early Bird prices for season tickets. Click here to complete our season ticket form online and a Whitecaps Account Manager will contact you as early as January 2, 2008.
