National award for Lam-Feist - Surrey Leader

National team member Monica Lam-Feist has won a second Canadian Under-17 Player of the Year award.

The forward from Surrey only spent part of the season with the under-17 team, moving up to the national under-20 squad for most of the year. She helped Canada win the CONCACAF (North and Central America) championship in Puebla, Mexico in June, scoring a pair of goals.

She also played at the Torneo 4-Naciones event in Chile just prior to the under-20 World Cup, also in Chile, where she netted another pair of goals.

She also had a short stint with the senior national team, playing at the Four Nations Tournament in China in January, 2008, and also started six games for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the W-League.

A student at Sullivan Heights Secondary School, the 17-year-old will join the University of Wisconsin women’s team in September, 2009.
