The Buzz:

It’s the rematch of the United Soccer Leagues’ First Division final Saturday in Puerto Rico where the Islanders host the Vancouver Whitecaps (4 p.m. www.usllive.com).

Thanksgiving:

The Whitecaps, led by two Charles Gbeke goals, beat the Islanders at Swangard Stadium 2-1 on Oct. 12, 2008. The Islanders were the USL Commissioner’s Cup winners for finishing atop the regular season table with a 15-6-9 record.

History:

The Whitecaps have a 5-1-4 historical edge against “the orange troupe,” including 2-1-2 at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, P.R.

Nick of time:

Among the Isles’ newcomers is Nick Addlery. The 2008 Whitecap will be looking for a big showing against this ex-club.

“Nick is a good player, he unfortunately didn’t manage too well here last year,” said Whitecaps’ head coach Teitur Thordarson. “He has been playing for the Islanders for the wintertime and doing very well.”

Austin City Limit:

The Whitecaps end the two-game road trip Tuesday when they become the second opponent for Texas’ First Division newcomers, the Austin Aztex.
