MAINLAND premier league players Nizar Khalfan and Nadir Haroub are required to report in Canada before July 9 for trials with Vancouver Whitecaps.
A statement released in Dar es Salaam yesterday by LZ Enterprise Company, which oversees the players’ trip, said the duo would leave soon.
The company’s assistant director Rahim Kagenzi said the two players were required to attend the Canadian Premier League match between Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC on July 9 before they start trials for a professional stint with Whitecaps.
He said Nizar and Nadir will undergo trials and will be joined by Mtibwa Sugar’s up-and-coming midfielder Zahoro Pazi for the same mission after two weeks.
Both Nizar and Nadir, who play for Mainland premier league teams Moro United and Young Africans respectively, are among national soccer team, Taifa Stars, dependable players.
Nadir told reporters yesterday, ’’I feel I’m lucky to win the opportunity to undergo trials with Vancouver Whitecaps. I promise to successfully hoist high the national flag throughout my stay in Canada.
’’I believe I will do my best and make my country proud with the help of God.’’
Meanwhile, Abdulrazack Khalfan, who appears for Yanga’s second-string side, is wanted for international trials at Miami FC.
Abdulrazack has been called to undergo the trials after putting up an impressive performance while playing for Yanga B in the Vodacom Premier League’s U-20 competition early this year.
He then earned a call up to Taifa Stars and won his first international cap in an international friendly against Vancouver Whitecaps in Dar es Salaam in which he came off the bench in the game that ended in a barren draw.
