By BOB MACKIN

  • THE BUZZ:

The forecast is for clouds and sun, but it'll be weak Thunder rolling over Swangard Stadium tonight.

  • BACK IN THE SWAN:

The Vancouver Whitecaps return home to host the United Soccer Leagues' First Division last-place Minnesota Thunder at 7:30 p.m.(Shaw TV/USLLive.com).

  • SLUMP BUSTER:

The 4-5-3 Whitecaps are back in action after a 2-2 tie with the Cleveland City Stars in Ohio on June 23. Vancouver has just one win in its last six league matches. That was 3-2 over Miami FC on June 12 when assistant captain Wesley Charles and star striker Charles Gbeke were red-carded after their high-profile, on-field fight.

  • TWO CHUCKS:

Charles and Gbeke were suspended one-game each by the league and given an extra one-game ban from the Caps. They were fined an undisclosed amount by the club, payable to the Whitecaps' Foundation.

  • THUNDERSTUCK:

Minnesota is in search of its first road win. Whitecap Marlon James had a hat trick when the teams met in May in Minny.

  • MIDFIELD MALADIES:

Justin Moose (foot) remains disabled while Ansu Toure (knee) is recovering from surgery. The Caps travel to Miami on Sunday.
