Vancouver Whitecaps centre back
Chris Pozniak
has been named in the latest USL First Division Team of the Week.

The Canadian international, who re-signed with the 'Caps at the end of last month, put in a fine defensive display during last Saturday's goalless home draw with Carolina RailHawks. It is his first accolade in the USL-1's weekly all-star XI since making the Week 10 Team of the Week last season.

Pozniak was one of four defenders to be chosen for the Week 19 all-star squad. Puerto Rico Islanders' John Krause, Portland Timbers man David Hayes, and Carolina's Jeremy Tolleson were the other defenders to be selected by the league this week. RailHawks shot-stopper Caleb Patterson-Sewell was the team's chosen goalkeeper following his clean sheet versus the Whitecaps in Vancouver.

Three midfielders in Minnesota Thunder's Ricardo Sanchez, Charleston Battery's Tsuyoshi Yoshitake, and Portland's Ryan Pore were also chosen, as were three strikers in Jean Alexandre from Austin Aztex, Mandjou Keita from Portland, and Week 19 Player of the Week in Melvin Tarley from Minnesota.
