  • THE BUZZ: The Vancouver Whitecaps will host the first-place Portland Timbers Thursday after winning a two-game, total goals first round series 1-0 over the Carolina RailHawks on Sunday.
  • SCORELESS TRIUMPH:

The Whitecaps (7th) and RailHawks (2nd) went scoreless in Sunday's second leg at Cary, N.C. Rookie Randy Edwini-Bonsu's Thursday home goal was all Vancouver needed.

  • THOR THOUGHTS: "We knew that when we were going to play Carolina they would be very tough games," said Caps' head coach Teitur Thordarson. "We did the job at home and they're very tactical here." Click here to find out more!
  • CAPS DOMINATE: Cap Kenold Versailles hit the crossbar in the 26th minute and headed Martin Nash's corner kick wide in the 30th. Goalkeeper Jay Nolly dove right to save Hawk Daniel Paladini's 35th minute penalty kick.
