Free community clinics in Prince George, Kelowna, Kamloops, and Victoria.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Wendy's Restaurants have launched their Fall 2009 Wendy’s Whitecaps free Community Soccer Clinics. The Whitecaps will visit the BC communities of Prince George, Kelowna, Kamloops, and Victoria to promote the game of soccer.
Wendy’s Whitecaps Soccer Clinics partner with the local community association clubs to provide free soccer clinics for boys and girls from the U-8 to U-11 age groups.
Participants enjoy coaching from Whitecaps players and coaches, autographs, and fun prizes. Youths will be able to practice their soccer skills in an opening Skills session, and participate in a Wendy's World Cup Tournament. Youths also get to meet Whitecaps men's and women's team players! Thanks to Wendy's and the Whitecaps, the clinics are free to all participants.
"With support from Wendy’s, Whitecaps players and coaches are able to reach communities around BC and connect with boys and girls, and their families, to help grow the game of soccer," said Whitecaps director of youth Dan Lenarduzzi.
Wendy’s Whitecaps Free Clinics have already reached over 2,000 boys and girls this past summer, with seven Lower Mainland clinics being run in South Surrey, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey/Langley, Vancouver, Richmond, and Coquitlam, as well as on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo.
