'Kickin' with the Stars'

Vancouver Whitecaps FC chief executive officer Paul Barber and director of soccer operations Tom Soehn will be putting their boots on to play in the 'Kickin' with the Stars' five-a-side match on Canada Day.

As part of Thursday's BC Soccer World showcase at the iconic Canada Place in downtown Vancouver, Barber and Soehn will join former Whitecaps players and other distinguished local figures in the five-a-side match, with kickoff set for 12 p.m. PT.

Other notable players in the 'Kickin' with the Stars' match include Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson, former Whitecaps goalkeepers Paul Dolan and Sian Bagshawe, former Olympians Anna Rice (Badminton) and Anna Marie de Zwager (Rowing), BC Soccer president Charlie Cuzzetto, 'Full-Time: Vancouver's Soccer Show' radio host Mike Martignago, and CTV's Perry Solkowski.

The BC Soccer World showcase sees BC Soccer and its team of partners pay tribute to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa by staging a variety of soccer and sport activity zones, demonstrations, and special events. The showcase will serve as a new addition to the award-winning Canada Day festivities at Canada Place.

BC Soccer World runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT under the five sails of Canada Place in downtown Vancouver.
