With the holiday season nearly upon us, everyone at Vancouver Whitecaps FC would like to wish our fans the very best for the holiday season and for 2011.
With less than 90 days before our first match in Major League Soccer versus Canadian arch-rivals Toronto FC, there is plenty of excitement at the club, as we continue to build towards our return to the top flight of North American professional soccer.
Head coach Teitur Thordarson and his staff continued their preparations for Vancouver's inaugural MLS season well after the 2010 USSF D-2 Pro League season came to an end. A recent six-week camp, which included a short training stint in Southern California, proved beneficial for the squad's preparations. Players and staff are now on a well-earned break until Monday, January 24, 2011, when preseason training will begin.
Meanwhile, women's team head coach Hubert Busby Jr. has been scouting for players for the 2011 United Soccer Leagues (USL) W-League season, with the 'Caps looking to go one better and win their third league title in the New Year. Our Residency program will also have a lot to look forward to in 2011, with Richard Grootscholten's young side heading into a new season of USL Premier Development League action in the summer.
With 2011 shaping up to be one of the most memorable seasons in Whitecaps FC history, fans will still be able to purchase MLS season tickets for 2011 during the holiday season. Our sales department will be available to take season ticket purchases and answer any questions you may have.
Season tickets start at a base price of $319, plus applicable tax and a $10 processing fee per order, and more than 60 per cent of seats are available for less than $31 per game.
