Day 29 in the Whitecaps FC "30 Day Countdown" campaign features one of Vancouver's most famous chefs. Master sushi chef Tojo is a life-long soccer fan and has created a special Whitecaps FC roll to honour the club's entrance into Major League Soccer.
The roll consists of a centre of asparagus and wasabi wrapped in thin-sliced cucumber that has been soaked overnight in aged vinegar. The entire roll is then wrapped in smoked sable fish.
Whitecaps FC CEO Paul Barber, president Bob Lenarduzzi, and director of soccer operations Tommy Soehn were the first to try this new roll and, judging by the video below, they were extremely satisfied.
