Nutrilite Canadian Championship back on Rogers Sportsnet for 2011

Canadian Soccer Association announced today that Rogers Sportsnet will return as the national broadcast partner for the Nutrilite Canadian Championship. All six matches in the 2011 competition will be broadcast live in High Definition on Rogers Sportsnet over four Wednesday nights from April 27 to May 25.


Vancouver Whitecaps FC will open their 2011 Nutrilite Canadian Championship campaign on Wednesday, April 27, with the first leg of their two-leg semifinal versus Montreal Impact at Stade Saputo. The match will be shown live on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific and East, beginning at 4:30 p.m. PT. Whitecaps FC will then host the Impact in the second leg at Empire Field on Wednesday, May 4. Live coverage takes place on Rogers Sportsnet ONE, starting at 8 p.m. PT.


If Whitecaps FC defeat Montreal, they will advance to the two-match championship final, with both legs set for Wednesday, May 18, and Wednesday, May 25. Both championship games will be broadcast live across Canada on either Rogers Sportsnet ONE or on all four Rogers Sportsnet regional channels, with broadcast details to be confirmed once the two semifinal series are complete.


Entering its fourth year, the Nutrilite Canadian Championship is Canada's professional club championship. The 2011 Voyageurs Cup winner will advance to the 2011-12 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League. The 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League winner will then advance to the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup.
